Every so often we see the newest release of the latest version of our operating system. If you are running your business on a CMS (content management system) or other online-based business package, there are a number of reasons why you want to get the latest Windows 8 beta download. Improvements in the operating system will lead to improvements in your online or computer-installed applications very soon.
- Security. The newest of the operating systems is always the most secure. A new operating system may have new features that allow applications to have more security. Those applications will soon want to take advantage of those features. This will mean the browsers used to take advantage of those features will soon want to update. While much business software is actually online, they do rely on the operating system and the browser you are using as the architecture for their operation. You should update your system so you can take advantage of those improvements to come. It is possible, in some time, your current system and browser will not be able provide the foundation for your online business applications to operate.
- Application Update. Even if you have computer-installed business software, it will probably regularly update. This is because your provider will want to provide you with constantly newer features. This may mean additional modules, such as induction software, become available. It many cases, it will be a combination of updating what you already have and more optional downloads for future use. As operating systems improve, applications can be built better and smarter. An operating system update is the signal to you to expect all of your applications will want to update very soon.
- Virus and Other Defence. The more modern an operating system becomes, the better it can defend against unwanted problems. Just as those who create problems spend hours trying to make trouble, those who make operating systems will add new features. What this means is there is some time before those who create us all trouble can do anything to harm us. The newer the operating system, the safer it is for us to use. We saw this a few years ago when we saw the introduction of firewall and other safety systems being inbuilt into operating systems. You know you are safer for at least a few months. By the time the trouble comes, there will also be other improvements to combat them.
- Faster, Better, Bigger. There is nothing like improvement. While many of us feel that we have to learn something new just after we thought we understood enough to use what had well, this is not necessarily the case. Newer operating systems are usually very easy to use and will allow you to do more, and make it much easier. For example, you might have needed and IT guy to set up your network a few years ago, and now many of us can do it ourselves because the operating systems have made it so much easier.
